Coqê-iso Bî (/ˈcoqɘ/ /ˈiso/ [rough; raw] [privilege; patent]) is a temperate Town located in the Rëthîvîcêli Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Coqê-iso Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Coqê-iso Bî was founded by Floyd Tsmeshê, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Coqê-iso Bî has a yearly average temperature of 27°C (80°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 30°C (86°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 25°C (77°F). Coqê-iso Bî receives an average of 221 cm/y (87 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Coqê-iso Bî covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 1612 m (5288 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Coqê-iso Bî was founded durring the early 15th century in winter of the year 1413, by Floyd Tsmeshê. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Floyd Tsmeshê.

Coqê-iso Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Coqê-iso Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

Coqê-iso Bî is buildings are located arround a single crampt cobblestone mainstreet which forms a clockwise spiral to give the town a over all circular shape. The town is the proud owner of a thick set of fortified walls fashioned from querried stone blocks. While not up to snuff for a fort or castle wall, the town's walls are naturaly much larger than those of forts or castles. Therefore, the construction such a wall is most expencive. Coqê-iso Bî's buget focused wall would serve its community well in battle in spite of looking unimpressive compared to castles and fortresses. The town's top tier civilian fortifications are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the towns defences.

Before you’ve even set foot into the heart of Coqê-iso Bî, you can smell it. The incense. It hangs about the town like a cloud. Monks, priests, and clerics are everywhere, all dedicated to the same divine, all performing the same rituals to bless and anoint buildings, streets, people, animals, you name it they are or have blessed it. The same holy symbol is everywhere too. Its on buildings, on people, and even branded into livestock. This certainly loves its divine. Asside form the revrent worship, you can see the citizens are preparing for something, and that something isn’t good. Weapons are worn openly. Defensive structures have been recently constructed to guard less used areas of the town. Merchants seem very eager to sell their wares at discount prices. Something is coming.

Civic Infrastructure

Coqê-iso Bî has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Coqê-iso Bî.

Coqê-iso Bî has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Coqê-iso Bî has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Coqê-iso Bî has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Coqê-iso Bî's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Coqê-iso Bî possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Coqê-iso Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Coqê-iso Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Coqê-iso Bî has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Coqê-iso Bî's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by dynamic designs and complex architectural plan forms; intended to heighten feelings of motion and sensuality, and frequently based on the oval. It made extensive and extreme use of: Grandeur, Contrast, Curves and twists, Rich surface treatments, Gilded statuary, Bright colors, Vividly painted ceilings, Fragmented or deliberately incomplete elements, Large-scale frescoes, Dramatic central projections on an external facade, the use of plaster, stucco, or marble finishing, Illusory effects such as trompe l’oeil, and pear-shaped domes. While beloved by the nobility, the common folk tended to despise the style due to the massive consumption of resources required for even a small building constructed in this style.

In Coqê-iso Bî every night at precisely midnight every structure in town is engulfed by sailors fire until the end of the witching hour.

The Sylph near Coqê-iso Bî are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.

Coqê-iso Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves line dance to channel Wild Magic energies of tier 3 via speaking in tongues.
